An F4J(UK) in the wrongly painted "duck egg blue" applied by the US Navy when it was prepared in the US before delivery to the UK.

As seen at RAF Wattisham, about 1990. Originally built for the US Navy as F-4J, BuNo 155529 and later sold and transferred to the RAF as s/n ZE359 on August 30 1984. Royal Air Force designated an F-3 but the Tornado F3s imminent arrival meant that it was actually referred to as the F4-J(UK) instead.

Aircraft is now on display in the American Air Museum, RAF Duxford, Imperial War Museum and repainted in the colours and insignia of VF-74.
