As of this morning, NATO ground troops have advanced into mainland Iran in Bandar Abbas and Bandar Lengeh.  The Iranian Revolutionary Guard are putting up bitter resistance but recognize conventional warfare against a superior force is futile.  Organizing themselves into small irregular groups which also include paramilitary and pseudo-civilian conscripts, the Iranians modern guerrilla warfare tactics will force us into small skirmishes that elongate our presence and expose you to greater risks.
We are currently reinforcing our positions along the coast as we push North towards Lar Airbase located North of Bandar Lengeh.  The Griffins will operate fr om Lar in the early days of the ground offensive.

You’ve just arrived in the Persian Gulf and are aboard the USS Tarawa.  This morning’s operation has you transferring to a small FARP located halfway between wh ere we currently and Lar Airbase.
