Map - Syria
The Syrian air defense network remains a significant threat to the Israeli Air Force (IAF). A key element of this network is an early warning radar (EWR) station located in Syrian territory, providing critical intelligence to enemy air defense units. To ensure air superiority, a special operation has been approved to neutralize this facility.

Six UH-1H Huey helicopters will conduct a low-altitude raid, navigating through the valleys of Lebanon to avoid detection. Their mission is to infiltrate Israeli commandos into the radar station to destroy it.

Mission Details
-Time: 06:30 AM
-Weather: Cloudy skies, light fog
-Objective: Deploy Israeli commandos at the Syrian radar station and disable its early warning capability.
-Insertion Route: Approach through the Lebanese valleys to avoid detection.

Strike Force:
x4 UH-1H Huey Helicopters (Multicrew): Troop transport, each carrying Israeli commandos.
x2 UH-1H Huey Helicopters (Armed) (Multicrew): Provide fire support with machine guns and smoke rockets.
x1 Squadron of 4 F-4E Phantoms (AI): Preemptive strike on the radar to weaken defenses before insertion.

Execution Plan
-Approach Phase: Hueys fly at very low altitude through Lebanese valleys to avoid detection.
-Airstrike: F-4E Phantoms bomb the radar station to weaken defenses.
-Commando Insertion: Hueys land outside the perimeter and deploy soldiers.
-Fire Support: Armed Hueys suppress enemy positions and mark targets.
-Return to Base: After insertion, Hueys withdraw, leaving the commandos to complete their mission.

Threat Assessment
-Enemy Air Defenses: Possible ZU-23 anti-aircraft guns and SA-7 MANPADS.
-Ground Forces: Syrian infantry and light vehicles guarding the station.
-Enemy Air Response: Possible MiG-21 deployment in reaction to the incursion.
-Rules of Engagement (ROE)
-Engage only confirmed enemy targets; avoid collateral damage.
-Maintain low-altitude flight to avoid detection.
-Synchronization is key: F-4s must strike before the Hueys arrive.
-If the mission is compromised, immediate evacuation is authorized.

Historical Context
On October 9, 1973, Israel conducted deep incursions to dismantle Syrian air defenses. Destroying radar stations enabled future operations without immediate detection. This mission recreates the high risk and strategic importance of those operations during the war.
