On the night of February 7–8, 2018, pro-regime Syrian forces, including Russian mercenaries, engaged in a direct assault on coalition positions near Khoucham, eastern Syria. In response to this unprovoked and coordinated aggression, POTUS has authorized precision retaliatory strikes targeting key leadership infrastructure in Damascus.
