Pilot an Su-25A in the year 198X, supporting a Soviet divisional fire plan against a West German Kampfgruppe. This is challenging but fair mission testing your skill as a ground attack pilot in a high threat environment. This mission has nearly 30 triggers and well over 300 units with engaging but realistic game play starting from before you take off to after you land. I won't give away any spoilers.

The Soviet 355th Motor Rifle Regiment have fought a meeting engagement against West German forces identified as Kampfgruppe Schwarz. The 355th have executed the opening echelon attack, achieving a 10km advance against heavy opposition.

BRIEFING / SITUATION

Kampfgruppe Schwarz is now at the breaking point. Forward reconnaissance has detected the withdrawal of large numbers of IFVs and MBTs westward from Goslar. They are using the metalled and dirt roads to withdraw. Friendly artillery is striking the expected routes of withdrawal to slow their retreat and aid in identifying target locations for friendly pilots.

The second echelon, the 360th Tank Regiment, will be making a deliberate attack in exactly 30 minutes. Division has requested the preparatory fire plan to include Su-25s (callsign 730) to strike retreating German columns during this window.

Tactical aviation will be providing air space security with fighters, while army air defence is operating 2K12 Kub batteries nearby to the east.

FLIGHT PLAN / FIRE PLAN

1. Callsign 730 to take off from Cochstedt airbase
2. Follow Waypoint 1 & 2
3. Loiter at Point Rubezh, await clearance from regimental FAC
4. Strike targets in map grid NC85 and NC95 between Goslar and Rhüden.
5. RTB upon total ammunition expenditure, battle damage or fuel warning
6. Land at Cochstedt airbase

Once cleared to attack by the regimental forward air controller, you may execute your free fire hunt inside the map zones NC85 and NC95 as indicated.
Conducting attacks outside these zones may result in friendly fire on units operating on their own taskings elsewhere.
