Following the Belkan Incursions in 1939, the Kingdom of Nordlands recognized the need for an expanded army aviation fleet. Acquiring 16 P-51 aircraft, a burgeoning army aviation brigade emerged. Seven years later, as the Air Force established itself as an independent branch, the group officially attained squadron status, becoming the 115 "Rotsvuisten" Squadron.
Shortly after the establishment of the Royal Nordlands Air Force, the squadron got deactivated after some financial struggles. 10 years later the squadron got activated again and got equipment with F-4 Phantoms.
Presently, the 115 Squadron is stationed at Bruchterveld Air Base, still flying F-4 Phantoms, operating under the Air Force Reserve Group alongside the 117 Squadron "Bulldoggen." The squadron plays a crucial role in national defense, reflecting the evolution of Nordlands' commitment to aerial capabilities since its early days.
