DESCRIPTION

A collection of a fairly accurate templates to populate the otherwise empty airports and ports across Mariana Islands with more than 1600 objects. I used Google Earth and photos from different years to place most of the objects, trying to keep the amount of fantasy stuff to a minimum. These templates are set in peacetime, at the dawn of yet another exercise, so there are no threats or targets.

You can import all templates, or pick only the parts you want, in any combination. The MST1 and MST4 would be a good starting point for a decent, mod-free experience. The MST2 will be essential if you plan to visit any civil airport on Marianas. And the MST3 is like the icing on the cake: it complements the other parts with the additional clutter.

HOW TO USE

* Extract the downloaded archive and copy all .STM files into your "Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta)\StaticTemplate\" directory. You may need to create the "StaticTemplate" folder if it doesn't exist.

* Create or open any Mariana Islands mission in the Mission Editor. I strongly recommend backing up your existing mission before importing. Or make a first import into an empty mission to see how it goes. Because, if you have missing or outdated mods, Mission Editor may corrupt your mission on save (produce a zero bytes file).

*  Choose "Edit > Load Static Template" from the top menu, then pick a template you would like to import. Sometimes the importing process may take several minutes to complete, during which DCS will appear frozen. I'm not exactly sure what's causing this, but the best way to avoid it is to restart DCS just prior to importing.

* There is a long-standing issue with DCS breaking TACAN and ICLS beacons in any template it imports. Check out the "How to re-assign TACAN" instruction in the "Extras" folder.

* For carrier and tanker frequencies refer to the kneeboard in the "Extras" folder.

THE TEMPLATES

MST1 - Base
Contains the majority of planes and vehicles. Mod-free and multiplayer-friendly.

MST2 - Civil Objects
Contains all commercial airliners and general aviation planes. This part is what makes the map feel alive.

Contains several hundred static ships placed all around the map.

MST5 - Supercarrier
Contains the CVN-75 with escort ships and static objects.

MST6 - Stennis
Contains the CVN-74 with escort ships and static objects.

MST7 - Forrestal
Contains the CV-59 with escort ships and static objects.

MST8 - Tarawa
Contains the LHA-1 with escort ships and static objects.

MST9 - Refueling Tracks
The real-world Mirage, Luxor, and Rio tracks, created in accordance with the 36 WGI 13-204. Serviced by a trio of KC-135MPRS tankers.
