Formed in early 1995, the 46th Air Force Unit ‘Silver Eagles’ was a unit in the Ustain 6th Air Division. Being primarily a mercenary unit, Pilots in the 46th AFU were from across the globe, including Useans, Veruseans, Aneans, and many from the surrounding Osean continent.

While not nearly as impactful as other more famous 6th AD units, the 46th AFU was instrumental in support of smaller operations to liberate Ustio, and in furthering the push into Belka proper. The unit would be responsible for many air to air victories, especially in the infamous Area B7R

Due to combat losses and manpower drains following the nuclear attacks of 6 June 1995, the unit was disbanded, and its remaining personnel reassigned to reinforce other units in the 6th Air Division.

Once described by his superiors as a promising, yet painful idealistic, young officer in the Royal Nordlands Air Force, Jens Van Dijk was one of the first to vocally throw his support behind the Ustians when the war broke out in 1994. It did come as some surprise to his leadership when Van Dijk abandoned his post in Nordlands to join with the Ustain Military weeks later, and months before the RNLAF’s formal involvement in the conflict.

Upon joining the Ustain Air Force, Van Dijk was assigned to the 46th AFU where, flying the F-15C, he would become a force to be reckoned with until his disappearance. Officially listed as Missing in Action, Van Dijk is believed by INTERPOL to still be active in Western Verusea, with his last appearance being in Kaluga in 2017 flying MiG-23’s.
