This is the companion mission to my video series on Beyond Visual Range combat. Follow the series and practice with this mission to get better at BVR.
This is the companion mission to my video series on Beyond Visual Range combat(see link below for the entire playlist). The final video in the series contains a video guide on the use of this file. A short summary is listed below.
You and up to three human players can take part in defense of a ground asset from an attack by AI adversaries. The goal is to stop them before they reach the ground asset located at Bullseye.
You can sel ect the difficulty (and size of the enemy force) through the radio menu ( \ then F10 ). Once completed you can use the "End Scenario" option under that same menu to save your mission results locally. The video goes into greater detail on how to read the results.
A number of stats are kept in the file including speed, altitude, and target range at time of launch as well as F-Pole at time of missile impact. Keep these results around so you can track your progress as you practice your BVR skills.
The goal here is to be able to quantify your improvement over time. Just like real life fighter pilots.
You can change the fighter type fr om F-16 to another type if you want. However, changing anything else in the mission could lead to unexpected results. So I don't recommend touching any other details.
You can watch the series on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd5Qdmhmp3Y7wxYI4cVxcDPdswhj_Zgpi
IMPORTANT: Since this mission uses scripting to write the results locally you will need to comment out the three "sanitizeModule" lines in your local "MissionScripting.lua" file. This is something that has to be done with any mission that writes locally.
