In this late 70's Replay of the 1973 Damascus Intl Airport Attack by the IAF the Syrians have prepared an enhanced response
to IAF aggression by invading F-4E bombers the Syrians have installed SPAAG  on or near their critical installations and
also they have acquired some late 70's "Low Digit Manpads" these being short range rear aspect hand launched Anti Aircraft Missiles
of late 70's design. Also two flights of MiG-21bis GCI will be launched when the F-4E bombers are near the Syrian Aerodromes.
The player in this Mission will lead a flight of 4 Mig-19P farmer aircraft in a GCI intercept of the incoming F-4E bombers.

The Mission leader will lead a flight of 4 MiG-19P to intercept incoming F-4E bombers from IAF to attack Damascus Intl Airport.
There are two flights of MiG-21bis GCI that will react to the invading F-4E bomber flights and also the Syrians have installed
ZU-23 AAA equipped High Lux pickups and Ural-4320 trucks along with ZU-57-2 units at
Damascus, Mezzeh, Qabr as Sitt, and Marj Ruhayyil Airports and an SA-6 SAM site West of Damascus Intl Airport.

Also There are MANPADS around the Airports these MANPADS are from the 70's
namely the Strela-2 SA-7 IR, the FIM-43C RedEye and the Shorts Blowpipe these MANPADS
are effective at Shorter Ranges and limited Aspect Angles compared to the
Later Model 80's and 90's MANPADS provided as STANDARD equipment in generic DCS.
All together it gives the Syrians just a fighting chance and reduces the Impunity
of the IAF's actions in the scenario put together here.
The Player in this mission will lead a flight of 4 MiG-19P out of Damascus Airport to Orbit @4.5km
just a little bit South and East of the Airport and wait the arrival of the F-4E bombers who are flying in LOW for stealth purposes
The MiG's can then dive on the F-4E flights while they are concentrating on their bombing runs.
Rear aspect shots with K-13A missiles are then possible and GUN's kill's in HEAD ON aspect also are possible.
The F-4E's will fire Sidewinders at you HEAD ON but you can use a Barrel-Roll to spoof the Sidewinders. Then use your gun's.
The MiG-21bis flights will be coming to help clean up and killing most or all of the F-4E's is very possible.
After the fight the MiG-19P flight will have to land at Mezzeh Aerodrome since the Damascus Airport will be messed up a bit.
ADF radio frequency is already programmed into NEAR receiver of the MiG-19P aircraft.
Radios channel 1 is Damascus ATC, channel 2 is Flight COMM's radio, channel 3 is Mezzeh ATC.

It's a simple MoD that allows use of these Late 70's MANPAD's and they have a small effect in favor of

the defending forces in the mission.
