You’ll play the role of the Mujahadeen in a fictional ambush on a DRA/USSR armored column by supporting your brothers in the captured Hind.

In 1986 the Mujahadeen downed and captured an Mi-24 Hind with US supplied FIM-92 Stinger Missiles, the use of these missile systems was a game changer for the Mujahadeen as the “Flying Tank” was sluggish at altitude and therefor an easy target with such weapons systems.  You’ll play the role of the Mujahadeen in a fictional ambush on a DRA/USSR armored column by supporting the ambush in the captured Hind.

Your scouts in Deh Rawud have communicated to your group that it’s “go time”.  A large armored column is heading south, then east through a mountain pass in Derajoy where it will then turn south on it’s way to Kandahar to replenish the already battered DRA and Soviet military.  A relatively small Mujahadeen convoy of APCs and Toyota Land Cruisers will make it’s way to the ambush point where artillery and RPGs are to be put in place.  Unfortunately the message was delayed and the column is already at Derajoy so you cannot escort the convoy, you’ll need to fly to the pickup point where a truck carrying two Resistance fighters with RPGs is on route to a Mujahadeen Stronghold in Sardagh, fr om there you’ll take them to their staging area marked by a white sea-can.  From there you will make your way to the muster point wh ere you’ll rejoin the convoy and wait for the signal to attack, a TM-46 has been placed in the road at the ambush area, this will trigger the ambush.  Due to the altitude your load-out is limited, so you’ll mainly be playing a support role, make sure to stay out of sight until the TM-46 has detonated.  And don’t forget to enable your deicers, it’s a cold foggy morning which will make your mission even more challenging.
