F-4E-45MC livery based on Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) F-4E serial no. 3-6552, who's crew flew to Iraq to defect from the Iranian Air Force.

F-4E 3-6552 was delivered by the United States to the Imperial Iranian Air Force in 1973.  On August 27th, 1984 F-4E 3-6552 was crewed by Maj. Rahman Ghanat Pishnee, and his unidentified WSO on August 27th, 1984.  Pishnee and his WSO took off fr om IRIAF Tactical Air Base 6 (Bushehr Airfield), and flew into Iraq under the guise of a combat air patrol sortie, eventually landing at Tallil Air Base, near the city of Nasiriyah in southern Iraq.  The two were granted asylum from the Iraqi government, citing persecution from the islamist government in Iran.  The Phantom was then parked in a hanger, wh ere it remained for several years.

A second Iranian F-4E also defected to Iraq the same night, and was later flown back to the United States during Operation Night Harvest, in an effort led by the CIA and USAF to discover how the new Iranian regime was able to keep American-made aircraft serviceable, without Western technical assistance.  3-6552 was in such "poor condition", that it had to be left in Iraq.

In 1991, F-4E 3-6552 became an unfortunate victim of US airstrikes targeting Tallil Air Base during the Gulf War.  The Phantom was completely destroyed when a laser guided bomb hit the hangar it was residing in.  The debris of the F-4 was discovered by US troops during the 2003 invasion, when Tallil Air Base was captured by coalition forces.
