This is an update of a mission I posted a few years ago using the Channel Map as a stand-in for the German Baltic Sea coast. Now, with the new German Cold War Map here it is with a highly accurate target area.

After he was rotated out of 418 RCAF to a headquarters desk job, Australian Mosquito ace Charles Scherf used all of his days off to return to the 418 and fly combat missions, every time claiming he wanted to make a "Last Trip," which became his nickname.

On orders to return to Australia as a Mosquito instructor, Scherf flew his actual "Last Trip" on 16 Mar 1944 over the German Baltic Sea coast where he shot down 5 German aircraft and destroyed two more on the ground.
