October 5th, 1976
Situation: The nearby cities have been hit by an overnight bomber raid by the Axis Forces. Allied forces are poised to launch an early morning counter attack against the bombers forward deployed to Al Assad Airbase.

The base is protected by a SA2 Guideline site, 2-3 SA-3 Goa sites, and a possible SA6 Gadfly site. Also active are CAP and Scramble aircraft consisting of Mig19 Farmers, Mig21 Fishbeds, Mig23 Floggers, and Mig25 Foxbats.

We have F-4E Phantoms (Knight Flight), F-15 Eagles (King Flight), F-5 Tiger IIs (Bishop Flight), Mirage F1EEs (Peon Flight), and F-15E Strike Eagles (Rook Flight).
We also have a carrier in play launching F-14A Tomcats (Barracuda Flight), F-4B Phantom IIs (Orca Flight), A-4E Skyhawks (Dolphin Flight), and AV-8B Harriers (Lungfish Flight).

Make best use of the aircraft and ordinance available. Good luck pilots.

Based loosely off of Mission 2 from Ace Combat 4, this mission was originally designed around the F-4 Phantom performing an Escort mission, and ballooned a bit into a full scale Multiplayer mission. To make the mission viable for more than just one aircraft, multiple frames are available to fly, with the 'newer' jets only being available in limited numbers to give more focus to the 'older' aircraft.

Despite the year, some anarchism's were done for gameplay purposes. The F-15E is equipped to play the role of the F-111 (which we currently do not have), and all aircraft have been given hard limits on the types of weapons they can employ. A comms card is included in aircraft kneeboards for this mission.

PLEASE NOTE: As of the time of this posting, the mission has only received limited testing on a single computer. Proper testing in a true multiplayer environment is not possible for me at this time, so feedback will be appreciated, and this mission will be updated with any fixes that are required.

Also, The use of "Allies" and "Axis" phrasing is intentional. I tend to build my missions to be politically neutral in order to avoid real-world consequences and offense.

Finally, the Community A-4E Skyhawk, and VSN F-4 Phantom are required downloads in order to play this mission.
