Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog Profile v1.2 for OH-58D Kiowa Warrior
| Functional layout for Pilot & Copilot
| Controls work in Pilot or Copilot seat (solo)
| AI Pilot commands mapped
| Modifier layer
| Profiles (diff.lua) for Pilot & Copilot included
| MS Word layout included
| TrackIR & Rudder Pedals required
This profile is meant to be functional.
- I felt the best use of the 'finicky' throttle Slew Control (T1) was to make it a MODIFIER with its axes unmapped. This allows for a 2nd layer of useful functions. (Remap if you have a thumbstick slew modification like the one by Delta Sim.)
- Controls work in either Pilot or Copilot seat in solo play. (Please test if having two human players.)
- Axes were mapped under Pilot bindings but work for Copilot as well.
- All AI Pilot commands were mapped under Pilot bindings using the Modifier layer but work for Copilot as well.
Or, you can check out Bailey's KIO-WA tool, an in-game clickable AI command overlay to free up the AI bindings:

- In the included MS Word diagram, command colours are:
1st Layer (default) = RED
2nd Layer (hold down MODIFIER) = BLUE
Latest update: Post 24 Dec 2024 patch where switches have been corrected.
To install:
1. Unzip the downloaded file containing the folders "OH-58D Pilot" and "OH-58D Copilot".
2a. Go to game Options/Controls/OH-58D Pilot.
2b. Under the respective drop down menus for "Joystick" and "Throttle", select "Load profile" and browse to the unzipped "OH-58D Pilot" folder to select the corresponding diff.lua file.
2c. At the bottom "Modifiers" tab, add throttle Slew Control (middle finger T1 button = JOY_BTN1) as Modifier.
3. Do likewise (steps 2a, 2b and 2c) for Options/Controls/OH-58D Copilot.
4. Any mapping changes you make are auto saved in C:\Users\User\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input in the corresponding "OH-58D Pilot" or "OH-58D Copilot" folder, but can also be saved separately using the drop down menus (described above) with "Save profile as" to any folder and filename of your choice.
PS: Test all axes and mappings as per diagram and remove any unwanted leftover stock bindings that may interfere.
