This is a depiction of Phantom II, QF-4E-60-MC, S/N:74-1638 of the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2012. The aircraft has a very glossy "wet look" paint job, probably something similar to Imron paint. I've wanted to do a shiny and relatively un-weathered skin and this seemed to be a suitable subject. In the photographs, Lt. Col. Lance “Blade” Wilkins, commander of the 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron commander at Tyndall Air Force Base FL, is named on the canopy rail. I made this livery to match, as close as possible, the photographs from that event. The only deviation is that I put the international orange on the horizontal stabilizers as it had during it's life as a USAF target drone.

Notes on this livery:

1) I modified the wing tanks to mimic cargo pods (which I understand that cargo pods will be in an upcoming update and I will edit this livery after that feature becomes available) by manipulating the normal maps to remove the circular fuel probe panels and include a rectangular "cargo door". These "cargo pods" can only be loaded on the outboard pylons since they are essentially wing tanks. The actual cargo pods would have been installed on pylons 2 and 8.

2) The photographs made it apparent that the gloss paint was applied over the anti-skid material of the fuselage walkways and the normal maps were modified to mimic that.
