A fictional Serbian Mirage 2000C.

During the 1980s, Yugoslavia was developing its own fighter jet called Novi Avion (New Aircraft) in cooperation with the French Dassault Aviation, which should have been a light version of the Rafale. In the meanwhile, some temporary solution was needed. Yugoslavia was evaluating Mirage 2000 and MiG-29, and although the Mirage got excellent reviews, the political decision was to opt for the used Russian MiGs, which were then purchased. But because the country later broke up, the development of the Novi Avion was cancelled. This year, Serbia was once again thinking of purchasing used Mirages 2000 from Greece to replace its old MiGs, but then the contract for the new Rafales was finally signed.

Being my favorite module for DCS, I wanted to create a fictional Serbian Mirage 2000C livery. I have drawn the Serbian roundel myself, which is a composite of the red and blue roundel of the Kingdom of Serbia and the white Kosovo Cross with navy blue outline of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, and with the Communist Yugoslav type of the paint scheme, I am positive there is some authenticity going on here.

I have included my drawings of the Serbian roundel both in ".ai" and ".png" formats. I didn't paint the wing fuel tanks, because I wanted all three fuel tanks to be of the same color, and also I liked that shade of dirty white on the default tanks.
