Hotspot: Cartels - Escape (Mission 3)

DCS World 2.9
F/A-18C
The United States has forced the hand of the cartels in Mexico resulting in immediate strikes of all known cartel infrastructures, assets, and equipment. Over the next twenty-four hours, the United States and Mexican governments will begin strikes at 0200 local time on March 31, 2025 on known targets with follow up targets to come in the progressing hours.

The initial strikes will engage known drug processing facilities under satellite and drone surveillance. Most of this will likely be abandoned.

Primary Objective:
-eliminate high value cartel personnel targets in civilian vehicles

---------------------------

The recent strikes and raids in the last several hours have stirred up the cartel leadership and personnel in many urban areas throughout Mexico. Many of the cartel leadership are attempting to flee the urban areas they’ve been hiding in over the last several hours. Fortunately, our surveillance and ground intelligence have identified these key high value targets as they leave their hideouts while on the move.

You are to engage any high speed civilian targets that are on the move in the city next to the previously struck cartel facility. Four vehicles are currently in the city and are heading towards the airport for their final escape from the city and possibly Mexico. You must engage these vehicles while they are on the move, but we must prevent collateral damage as much as possible.

Your loadout is 4 x Maverick E’s (laser Mavericks) that should be used in conjunction with your ground radar and targeting pod. Your ground radar should pick up these fast moving vehicles in the city, allowing you to lock on to them as they move. Remember to engage your laser on them once you have a lock and use code 1688. If your Mavericks only damage the vehicles, you can finish them off with a gun strafing run.

Threats are low, however ground intelligence indicates that the cartels have been seen transporting US Manpads throughout the city. These were likely sold to the cartels on the black market either from Afghanistan or even Ukraine. Watch your altitude and be on the lookout.

You may need to conduct an air to air refuel prior to striking your target if you find yourself running low of fuel.
