A routine, peacetime intercept by Canadian Air Force Dagger 01 goes south when a pair of Chinese escorts misjudge your behavior as hostile and move to engage. This mission is a 10-15 mini mission, best played between two friends. You'll spawn mid-scramble to intercept an "unknown" group, and be asked to perform a visual identification (i.e. not to engage, but to visually make contact with the group). Have your wits about you... things will turn nasty quickly. This is the mission flown by Growling Sidewinder in his "Arctic Intercept - Candian CF-188A Hornet Scramble" video.

You'll spawn mid-flight, on the way to visually intercept an "unknown group" approaching Canadian waters. You'll be asked to visually identify the group, including their type, markings, and stores. As you approach, you'll notice that this is part of a joint Russian - Chinese exercise / mission - before the Chinese pair misjudge your behavior as hostile, turning the whole thing sour.

It can be played solo, but is best played with a friend playing as a wingman. It will probably take your several attempts to be successful.

Use your A2A radar
Fox-2 and Fox-3 engagements
Use your ATFLIR
ACM
