This is an alternative solution for augmented reality, if you own the Winwing MFDs and UFCs.

If you own a Quest 3 (or any other VR headset that allows environment streaming) and you have your own simpit with the front panel this might be for you.

Its an alternative solution to open kneeboard or reality mixer on steam. The pink parts of the cockpit will be replaced by the real world. Since I own the Winwing MFDs and UFC I painted these parts pink. I also like to see my legs and body, so the floor and seat are also pink.

Install the livery here: [...your DCS saved games folder]\Liveries\Cockpit_F-18C\Winwing Mixed Reaility , and choose it in the special options. Activate your environment streaming in your VR headset and line up the cockpit with reality. I use the keyboard camera movement for this, which makes it way easier.

The Displays are still rendered in game.

Known problems:
The DCS light enginge makes problems in this very special use case. Turn off Canopy Reflections in the Game Settings, or you will have pink reflections on the cockpit.
At night, the cockpit will be black, and if you turn on the green backround lights everything will be green, turning the livery useless. A workaround is to turn off the backround light and use the ingame flashlight. You can point it where you want to click. Or change the options so the flashlight is where you look, at the cost of using your mouse.

Also some buttons and levers share the same texture, so they are also pink. Its workable though.

Otherwise its a great solution that works out of the box without the need of another layer-software. Prepare to be so immersed, that you want to touch everything with your hands.

If you have more instruments/cockpit panels, you can paint them pink too. There are some very good tutorials out there.
