A brand new Soviet "Kilo" Class subamrine has caused outcry navigating through the Suez canal, currently it has docked at suez port to refuel.
Intelligence now shows this submarine is destined for Iran, photographic evidence shows it will depart the port under the flag of Iran. This asset cannot be allowed to reach it's home port.
Therefore an urgent strike has been authorized.

April 1991 : unusual troop movements in Kola peninsula have been detected with satellites but due to jamming, NATO intelligence services can't tell what it is. An SF-37 Viggen has been sent for a recon flight. Unfortunetaly it has been shot down by enemy fighters. Soviet Union apologied for this mistake but such an incident reinforces the feeling that something is in preparation behind border. In this tricky situation France decided to send a Mirage 2000C squadron in Finland for support.

Another mission of me trying to tribute my favourite game of all times: Ace Combat 5.
Osea attempts to launch a laser module to be outfitted onto the Arkbird, a maneuverable orbiting spacecraft, in response to Yuktobania's use of the Scinfaxi. Yuktobania sends in airborne tanks, and eventually cruise missiles, to capture and destroy the base respectively. Wardog Squadron, in the area on their trip back to Sand Island, fend off the attack and the laser module is launched successfully.
Necesary map: Sinai.

Operation STRIKE OF THE SWORD or Operation KHANJAR was a US-led 2009 offensive in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan.
About 4,000 Marines fr om the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade as well as 650 Afghan troops were involved, supported by NATO planes.
The operation began when units moved into the Helmand River valley in the early hours of July 2, 2009. This operation was the largest Marine offensive since the Battle of Fallujah in 2004.. The operation was also the biggest offensive airlift by the Marines since the Vietnam War.
Key targets of the assault include the districts of Garmsir and Nawa which are towards the southern border with Pakistan, wh ere many of the insurgents are said to take refuge, and are involved in the opium trade funding the Taliban.

The 163rd Tactical Fighter Squadron is a unit of the Indiana Air National Guard's 122nd Fighter Wing, located at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Station, Indiana. The 163rd is currently transitioning from the F-4E Phantom II to the F-16 Fighting Falcon. This is representative of Blacksnakes F-4E AF68-0042 in the final months of the squadrons F-4 service in 1991 during the start of their F-16 transition.
In 1986 the F-4Cs were replaced with more up-to-date F-4E Phantom IIs. In 1989, the squadron again deployed to Southwest Asia for exercise "Coronet Brave" in conjunction with "Bright Star". The unit continued its standard of excellence by supporting Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm with deployments to Saudi Arabia by the Security Police, January through June 1991, and to Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, by the Tactical Hospital in September/October 1991. The squadron started receiving their first F-16C/D Fighting Falcon aircraft in 1991.
