I couldn't find a good simple guns only BFM mission anywhere, so I made one.
this is version 2.0 of it, it had a few minor changes since we built it and we're pretty happy with it.\
we use it most weeks
the key is SIMPLE
Players start over the Crimean Peninsula
10 nm apart
head to head
15000 ft
Merge
Fights on
that's it, simple as.
when there is a winner back to spectator and start all over again
all players on the server can watch what's going on if while in spectator they go briefing -> fly they have all the views available, f5 is a good one!
there are 4 of each aircraft for each side
a few versions are available, here's the key
N - Night
NM - The current public version with no mods
good for training or mini-tournaments or testing new toys out
now get out there and have some fun
In the future I'm hoping to add helicopters to this, so stay tuned

After building the training mission and spending many hours learning to fly our jets it came to our attention that we needed a proper dogfighting arena...
so we built one
The briefing has all the information you need on the mission, but basically there are 2 "arenas" the "main arena" and the "close-in arena"
The "Main Arena" is a 200 nm battle space with "bullseye" in the centre. choose your weapons and conditions, add in an AWACS if you want and then take off and use tactics and skill to engage and kill the OPFOR
The second arena is the "close-in Arena", the same aircraft are available for each side, you take off from airports 3nm apart. chose your conditions, guns, fox 2's or whatever. takeoff, form up, fly to whatever area you want, climb to altitude then break/turn and fights on!
Both areas also feature a few extra options, like an escort of some B52's in the main arena or spawnable AI fighters in the close-in arena
Its time to kick the fires and light the tyres

REQUIRED MODS: A4 Skyhawk, because at this stage who doesn't have it!
This mission is a small remake of our previous BFM training mission, this time we have added in some AI Aircraft.
we discovered during training that we needed a more consistent metric to train to as some pilots were better at BFM than others which always led to an unbalanced fight with the opportunity to learn getting lost, so we put in some AI at Ace level. then we put in some more, then a few more...
now we have the same 2 sides with all aircraft available to both to be flown for multiplayer/singleplayer use and 10 different AI aircraft to spawn and fight against for each side with thirty spawns or "shots" of each
30x10x2 = 600 spawns
pictures below of the aircraft for each side
BLUE = NATO AI aircraft
RED = Russian AI AIrcraft
