Fictional fan skin for the Republic of Emmeria Air Force from Ace Combat 6. The squadron is the 118th Fighter Interceptor Squadron "Guardians of the North," part of the 12th Air Division. The squadron the skin represents, and associated lore is fanon in cooperation with [13th] Stargazer on his Unsung Liberators pack. Aircraft of this unit do not feature unique bort numbers.

There are many ways to die in the harsh northern expanses near Fensalir, Emmeria. Between the drifting ice sheets, blinding super-blizzards and unforgiving wilderness, many wouldn’t fault a wayward explorer or lost military patrol to succumbing to the Razgriz. However, if you happen to be a surface to air missileer, there is one more threat the north has to offer.
The 128th “Big Irons” Fighter squadron.
Hailing from Fensalir Air Base, just south of the Straits is one of the only Air National Guard units of the Emmerian Air Force to specialize in the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) or more affectionately known as “Wild Weasel” by its pilots. Despite flying largely obsolete F-4 Phantoms; The Big Irons are deadly efficient with their array of AGM-45 ‘Shrike’s or Mark-82 ‘Snake-eye’ bombs.
Whether the threat be in the air or on the ground, rest assured the Big Irons are deadly no matter what adorns their fighter

While most of their air taskings are interceptions of suspicious air traffic along the Strait, they do stand as an alert squadron to counter any potential hostile force that approaches the nations air space.
Since the mid 1980’s, the squadron has flown and mastered the specially modified F-16 Air Defense Fighters, though with the airframes continuing to build up hours and age related fatigue, the National Guard Bureau has slowly begun phasing the Vipers out for the newer produced Mirage 2000 interceptor fighters. While derogatory comments could be made about the work ethic of those assigned to the 121st Fighter Intercept Squadron, what cannot be challenged or derided is the combat ability of the Copperheads Vipers and Mirages.
Stationed at Enzio Air National Guard base in the deserts north of Gracemeria, the 121st has proven time and again to be one of the most combat-effective squadrons within the Air National Guard, challenging the likes of active duty units such as of the 1st or 8th Air Divisions.
Pilots assigned to the Copperheads enjoy a more relaxed nature of the reservist squadron, allowing many the flexibility and stability of civilian life along with their military duties. In every military readiness drill though, the 121st has been able to rise to the occasion, and time will tell if this streak will continue into a real conflict.

Established in 1966, the 15º Gruppo, commonly known as Windhover Squadron, is a component of the 8º Stormo flying out of Gracemeria AFB to defend the capital city of Emmeria. During the celebrations for the squadron's 50th anniversary in 2016 Estovakia invaded, with the element of surprise pushing Emmerian forces west to the island of Khesed, including the 8º Stormo and Windhover along with it. Flying throughout the war alongside their more famous sister squadron, 28º Gruppo "Garuda" flying the F-15EM Attack Eagle, the 15º put up a fierce resistance to the invading forces, ultimately managing to push the Estovakians back completely and liberating all of the occupied territory. Shortly thereafter, alongside Osean naval forces, the Emmerians destroyed the Chandelier railgun complex in the eastern sea. This aircraft, 12-0032, was piloted by the unit's commanding officer, Mag. Daniel Pollini who scored 23 kills throughout the conflict including one member of the infamous Strigon Squadron
