Los Angeles class 688 attack submarines Chicago, Boston, and Providence were involved in Operation Dolittle and need of help getting out of the Barents Sea. Providence was hit by depth charges and severely damaged before Chicago sunk the Grisha that witnessed the subs Tomahawk launch. The cruise missel launch by these and other subs can change the balance of power in the Atlantic if the mission destroys most of the Navel Air Regiment bombers that have been a nightmare for our convoys. Boston and Chicago are attempting to escort the damaged Providence out towards the polar ice cap however they are being swarmed and are in desperate need of help. This is a high risk high reward mission requiring some decisions outside normal SOPs to help ensure we get these crews home safely.

There's a Soviet invasion fleet that has left the Kola Peninsula and needs to be located. We fear it is heading to Bodo. If we loose Bodo, we loose what little control of the North Atlantic that we have left. You have been equipped with a reconnaissance pod to better help you to locate and take pictures of the fleet. You'll have a limited weapons loadout to save weight and maximize range. Recon the route along your waypoints and check out any surface ships. Keep yourself safe and get back for a report.

Situation:
It’s time to give the Soviets on Iceland a few headaches! We are going to sneak in low and fast below radar with low level bombers to take out power and airbase infrastructure. We believe most of the air defence systems were destroyed by the Wild Weasels earlier however they may have obtained additional systems so be alert. Additionally, we now know that there are fighters based on Iceland so we will be prepared for that. We are going to time the strike for when most of the fighters are busy escorting a bomber raid. We will be setting a trap of F-4 Phantoms to jump any fighters that may try to interfere with your exfiltration. Timing is critical to avoid the twin tailed fighters (probably Mig 29s) however we have an asset on the ground code named “Beagle” who is keeping HQ apprised of the Soviet activities. This asset will help us ensure we hit the island at the right time.

Reform with your 4 plane element and prepare to intercept inbound bandits. Expect TU-16 Badgers and TU-22 Backfires. The Hummers are up so make sure your datalink is on to take advantage of their radar coverage. You have 8 missiles so I expect you to get at least 4 bombers. Good luck.

More aircraft are required to support NATO’s air mission in the ETO (European Theater of Operations). Your mission is to ferry 4 F15Cs across the Atlantic Ocean. Waypoints are pre-set so just sit back, hit the autopilot and have a relaxing flight.
Your callsign will be Gulf 49.
Be careful, the Navy is anticipating a strike against their carrier group. You should be well north of them but keep your eyes open. Aerial Refueling can be called upon if required but that shouldn’t be necessary unless something malfunctions
