As the calendar turned to 1951 China threatened to directly attack all the USAF bases in North Korea. As a result your squadron has hastily been redeployed further south to Kimpo Airbase. This is expected to be your base of operations for the foreseeable future.
*** This morning’s sortie is a patrol for enemy supply truck convoys ***
We know the trucks have been coming in from Grid FK07 near Hackemziy and then driving south into Grid EK94 at Maykop to resupply the enemy garrison there. Your mission is to find and destroy any military vehicles you encounter along that route.
Enemy air activity has been suspiciously quiet. The weather over the North Korean airbases has been particularly poor but the MiG-15s have still been spotted in small numbers.

Historical Mission
Our new squadron of F-86 Sabres has secretly arrived in theatre, and we are going to give the enemy MiG-15s a run for their money. On paper both aircraft are evenly matched but the F-86 has never been tested in live combat against an enemy.
Today we will have the element of surprise. Our aircraft look like MiGs and the enemy will not be expecting an aircraft with a swept wing to be USAF. To further the deception, you have been given F-80 Shooting Star callsigns.
Make the most of this advantage by flying like F-80s: so don't climb above 25,000 ft and don't fly faster than 450kts until you are ready to fight. Once the firing starts the enemy will fight back!

2. Radio Selection
3. External Fuel Tank management
4. Speed management at altitude
5. Dogfighting using cannons only
