Throughout the summer of 2019 tensions between Iran and the international communities grew almost to the point of open conflict. The Iranian Navy, with support fr om the Iranian Air Force, boarded and seized several ships that they claimed wh ere in Iranian waters.
A small detachment of A4 Skyhawks from the Iranian Air Force 41 Fighter Squadron has been temporarily located to the civilian airport on Kish Island. This morning those F5s have been tasked with inspecting the two main coastal shipping routes that lie between Iran and Iraq.

Operation Earnest Will Redux Part I contains the first 7 missions of a 13 mission campaign. Part II consists of the remaining 6 missions.
History seems to be repeating itself. Back in 1988, Operation Earnest Will was implemented to protect friendly shipping from Iranian attack. (Yes, I was there). Now, here we are in modern times and Iran is again threatening to sink any ship transiting through the Strait of Hormuz which has not paid a transit fee to the Iranian government.
You are about to arrive aboard USS George Washington to assume command of VF-103, the Jolly Rogers the day before the Washington battlegroup enters the Persian Gulf to protect friendly shipping from attack.
Your squadron is the tip of the spear for the embarked carrier air wing. You will be conducting air to air intercepts, air to ground bombing, reconnaissance missions, along with battlegroup defense for the next several weeks.
