F/A-18C Hornet
This is an immersive, single or co-op mission in the Strait of Hormuz, flying an F-18 or F-16, and a preview of my upcoming campaign - A Standoff in the Strait of Hormuz. In an attempt to raise oil prices to force the west to broker peace between Israel and Iran, Iran has been attacking oil interests in the Strait. You are part of a multinational taskforce to protect the Strait and have been asked to aid a tanker in the process of being seized. You'll perform a show of force, which will fail, culminating in eventual hostilities and Iranian interceptors being launched against you. You'll face in-the-moment decisions that will dictate if the mission ends peacefully, or if it ignites a regional conflict, and is the first mission of my upcoming campaign. This mission has several radio cues, A2G objectives, and A2A objectives.

This is Part 3 of the "Al Taquddum through the ages" 3-part series. It is advised that you play the first two missions, but it isn't essential. This is a single or multiplayer mission, and while it's best enjoyed with friends, it is entirely playable single-player.

In the intervening years between RAF Habbaniya being an RAF base in WW2, and it being bombed by the RAF during Desert Storm, the base had become an Iraqi military installation and chemical weapon storage facility. The airfield was expanded to become what is now known as Al-Taqqudum Air Base, and on the second day of the Iran-Iraq War during Operation Kaman 99 it was targeted as part of a 140-strong Iranian air operation to cripple Iraq's Air Force.
You will play either as F4s attacking the Al-Taqqudum Air Base, F5s attacking the Al-Taqqudum Air Base, or F14s protecting the tankers from Iraqi interceptors.

In 1941 a small flying school at RAF Habbaniya - modern day Al Taqqadum Air Base - found itself at the centre of control for the Middle East. Besieged by Iraqi Nationalist Forces, who were supplied and equipped by Nazi Germany, this handful of RAF officers and students, as well as their ground crews, fought off ground offenses literally just yards from their camp, aerial bombardment, and strafed enemy positions and airfield.
You'll fly as one of the junior students in the middle of the conflict. Germans are resupplying Iraqi positions near Fallujah by train. You'll be tasked with its interdiction. You and your Flight Leader will disable the train, fight off bandits, and defend RAF Habbaniy

This is the single player edit of the H-Hour +1 multiplayer mission, specifically crafted for Growling Sidewinder. In this scenario you will play as Cpt Miller, a real life F15 pilot who established a CAP not far from Baghdad ahead of the Wild Weasels on the first night of Desert Storm, one hour after F-117s and cruise missiles bombarded the capital (H Hour +1). After establishing your CAP, you will be engaged by 2 of every aircraft the F15s faced that night, progressively escalating in difficulty with each new pair. In total, you will engage 8 enemy aircraft over the AAA-lit skies of Baghdad.
