This mission is based on the 29 October 1980 "Sultan 10" operation at the beginning of the Iraq-Iran war. Iranian intelligence has positively identified the presence of newly delivered Mirage F1s based in and around Mosul. 6 F4 Phantoms have been tasked with runway strikes while you - callsign Sultan 7 - has been tasked with escorting them and protecting the tanker which is circling at low level . The tanker is essential; without it, the Phantoms will be unable to RTB. You will provide cover for both the F4s and the tanker, while dodging Iraqi SAM sites.

Single player ground attack mission for the Flaming Cliffs F-5 Tiger
Earlier today, after months of small-scale conflicts, Iraqi Forces launched a series of surprise attacks on almost every active Iranian airfield. Iraqi ground troops have begun an offensive along the border with Iran and are making advances into Iranian territory. The Iraqi forces are unaware that their air attacks have done little long-term damage to the IIRAF airfields. After a few hours of hurried maintenance, the Iranian F-5E Tigers based at Bassel Al-Assad are ready to strike back!

Take part as one of the Iranian F4Es that assaulted Soviet Forces who accidentally invaded Iran, originally intending to attack a Mujaheddin supply base. Utilize guns as happened in the real incident or use bombs. Be on quick alert and get over there as fast as possible! This is based off of the real life 1982, April 5th incident in which Iranian F4s destroyed multiple invading Soviet helicopters during the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.
This mission requires the F4E and Afghanistan map. Features 3 custom kneeboards as well as dialogue (although not voiced, just subtitles.).
