F-14 Tomcat
This mission uses the F-14's LANTIRN pod and is on a hot takeoff on the Forrestal since carrier launches no longer work with a cold cockpit. The mission briefing explains how to request targets through the F10 menu. Mission time is about 2 hours. I made this mission for myself to practice long range strikes using the LANTIRN pod. There are 8 randomized ground targets. Targets are given in LAT/LONG format and displayed on the F10 map. This mission was formally set at night but has been altered to day due to poor performance and lighting. Targets have been added to the F10 map because the LAT/LONG in the mission editor is incorrect and inconsistent to the in game map. Jester's LAT/LONG waypoint entry no longer appears to be functioning either

Night Vision Goggle (NVD) Shader update to make it behave more like the real thing. You can view the cockpit instruments and panels in your peripheral vision. Should work with TrackIR and VR. I am aware that in VR you see two circles but in Track IR you see one. I'm still working on the convergence for the VR viewpoint and will update when I figure out that code. I've been having fun lately adding voice recordings to missions. This is a quick nighttime strike in the Hornet with voice overs from the mission commander and another unit. Fairly straightforward mission, but a couple of surprises along the way.
Mission Brief:
"Good evening, everyone. We have received intelligence that a high value target is camped out in a mountain valley north of Kutaisi. The mission tonight is simple: Take out the target. There's not a lot of maneuvering room in the valley, so Dodge flight, a single F-18 will go in alone armed with rockets. A single Apache, Springfield flight, will be standing by for additional CAS. Uzi will be on station over the camp providing forward air control, and will designate targets as needed. Overlord will provide mission command. Additional details will be provided after startup."

AV-8B Night Attack V/STOL
Welcome to my 8th mission and my first mission for a fixed wing aircraft.
Operation Rescue under fire is loosely based on the Spanish movie "Rescue under fire" and lets you participate in what the AV-8B N/A was designed for - night attack.
The story:
A Humvee of an armoured patrol struck a mine near the Omani town of Hansi. A medevac CH-47 was dispatched to the site, but it rolled over due to hitting soft ground upon landing. Thankfully this did not cause any further casualties.
Problem is, we are not supposed to be in Oman, so central command decided to retrieve the helicopter. Insurgents are threatening the crash site and the troops on location are in urgent need of close air support.
Involves night flying, night attack based on IR pointer target designation, adherance to ROE, avoidance of collateral damage, night/dawn midair refueling. Persian Gulf map is required.
