With no direct lineage to previous units, the 17th Fighter Squadron was Established in 1957 flying the F-105 Thunderchief. Seeing Action during the Clavis intervention in the 60s, the Squadron would primarily be tasked with Tactical Bombardment, taking heavy losses during their first two deployments to the war zone. During their final deployment in 1970, the Panthers would be upgraded to the F-4D, and would spend most of the final days of the war on CAP missions against MiG-17 and MiG-21 fighters that had been attacking OADF B-52 sorties.
In 1977, the squadron would transition to the F-4E and maintain their Phantom presence until 1993, when they transitioned to the F-15E. The Squadron would reach IOC weeks after the outbreak of the Belkan War, but would not rotate into the region until mid 1995, primarily providing precision strikes against entrenched Belkan positions near FATO.

The 174th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Flamin' Sabers" is a component of the 185th Fighter Wing alongside the 170th FS, 175th FS, and the 177th TFS. They have deployed in the Strike Eagle in nearly every conflict since the Belkan Civil War and has performed admirably in all combat since. During the Lighthouse War one of the squadron's Mudhens (specifically SerNo. 92-074) became the first individual Strike Eagle to drop over 1,000,000 pounds of ordnance in total when its crew used twelve 500 lb JDAMs on an Erusean air base, destroying fifteen or more aircraft on the ground.
This aircraft, SerNo. 93-571, was flown during the Lighthouse War by 1Lt. Kiera "Clipper" Palmer and Capt. Glenn "Muppet" Price and destroyed several enemy tanks, later going on to participate in the intervention into the Erusean Civil War until the squadron transferred to the F-15EX Golden Eagle in late 2024, scoring several kills. You are Skippa 1-1, an F-15E armed with twelve Mk-82 Snakeyes and one GBU-24 Paveway. Your mission is to eliminate a High Value Target Convoy south of Amman, Jordan.
Be Advised! An SA-6 has been strategically placed in the city of Amman. Watch for launches and use your GBU-24 to take it out! The enemy may launch a QRA force so contact Magic 1-1 on 139.000 AM for AWACs BRA calls.
[WP1 - WP4] Transit along the Isreali coastline past the city of Tel Aviv and towards the city of Amman.
[WP5] The city of Amman. Your target is somewhere south of this waypoint on a 4-lane highway.
[WP6] Egress after your attack is complete.
[WP7] Land at Tel Nof for debriefing.
