Established in the late 1960s flying the A-7 Corsair, Attack Squadron 62 "Fist of the Fleet" would be a staple within the Emmerian Naval Reserves, often attached to Carrier Air Wing 2 in San Loma. Deploying twice in 1972, and 83, the squadron would notably earn the Distinction of winning the Aurelius award in 1984, for most spirited squadron in the Navy. In 1988, the squadron would upgrade to the F/A-18C, and would make a deployment to Sapin in 1996 supporting the No Fly Zone operations over Belka at that time.
With the planned divestment of the legacy F/A-18, the squadron would be disestablished in 2012, following a remarkable forty plus years of service, with one of the best safety records within the fleet.

Pilots learn both in the classroom and in the cockpit how to counter the various threats that the Emmerian military may face in the near and far future, and will go back to their own squadrons as in house instructors to teach the skills they have honed.
