It's early 1945 and the Essex carriers are testing out a new radar for detecting enemies. The radars give bearing, but not distance.
Driven by my newest script, you will get reports from the two Essex carriers on which sector enemy ships and bandits are detected, in relation to each Essex. Work the radios to listen to the Morse code from each Essex and see if you can triangulate the position of the enemy ships without using the F10 map.
But wait, that's not all! You can also practice strafing aircraft sitting on Sapian, AAA on Rota, or spawning in Bandits.

Mission briefing: Operation "Typhoon Fury"
21st of June 1944, 08:00
Location: Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands
Situation:
US Marines and Army troops are fighting hard in the Mariana Islands. Japan still controls the northern part of Saipan, including a strategic airfield. The airfield is not operational but acts as the primary base for Japanese forces on Saipan. The enemy has established an artillery battery that is continuously shelling our positions and hindering our advance. Japanese air forces in the area are assessed to be weak but cannot be completely ruled out.

In the 1950s, Japan signed the Japan-US Security Treaty. The GHQ forces stationed in Japan remained as the US Forces Japan, but with the outbreak of the Korean War, the US was no longer able to focus on Japan. The Self-Defence Forces were established in response to the US demand for Japan to rearm, and the F4U Corsair began service in 1954. As the United States began deploying replacement F4U-4 and F9F models, the surplus F4U-1D aircraft were transferred to Japan. These aircraft were used for over a decade. At times, they were deployed alongside U.S. Navy aircraft carriers for training purposes, but the information about this was not made public until 30 years after the Corsair's retirement, on 31 February 1995.
