F-16C Viper
This is an adaptation of the RNLAF F-16A block 15 J-058 from 311 sqn "Aquila" (eagle).
painted in a special scheme in commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the squadron (may 1996) it also features fuel tanks with the dutch airforce motto at the time "air power".
The squadron started operating f16's out of Volkel AFB on april 1982, became the first RNLAF sqn to support laser guided bombs and later in 2001 post the MLU upgrade, reconnaissance became the main role of the squadron.
the squadron participated in numerous operations, starting with operation "deny flight" (April 12th, 1993 to December 20th, 1995) in former Yugoslavia and ending with support of nato forces in Afghanistan during May 21st, 2011 to September 20th, 2011.
upon return the squadron was disbanded due to budget and reduction of the f16 fleet in the RLNAF.
