Operation Ilois was a secret, off-the-books, Special Boat Service mission to capture four Taliban commanders in the Lower Sangin Valley in Helmand Province in 2006. The mission was a failure and the SBS convoy was ambushed by 70+ fighters on its return leg. Out in the open with only irrigation ditches for cover, the SBS and Special Recon Regiment fought for over an hour while a make-shift Quick Reaction Force was dispatched from Gereshk some 10 miles south of them. Escort ground forces into the village of Hyperabad and provide air support as enemy threats pop up. This mission should take 45 minutes or so to complete. Stick to the waypoints, at least up to steerpoint three. The mission will progress based on triggers. You'll have a couple of triggers pop up on the F10 Radio Menu, pay attention to them and activate them timely. Other F10 radio options will pop up, they are help for you but not necessary for mission completion. Good luck!

## Testing Completed ## A part-real, part-fictional re-enactment of Day 1 of Operation Eastern Resolve 2, a joint US Marine Corps and Afghan National Army effort to increase influence and presence in the district of Now Zad. This mission follows the assault on the town of Dohaneh in the south of the district. The operation was one of the first, and one of the most kinetic, following the USMC s"surge" in Helmand Province earlier that year.
At 0900hrs 12 Aug 09, a small USMC force secured a foothold in the north of the town and began constructing a temporary patrol base, from which it was hoped that they (and the ANA) could perform regular patrols. Almost immediately, they came under heavy attack from Taliban militas in the area - to include indirect fire directed from the mountainous regions around the town.
A Quick Reaction force from Now Zad is on its way. Your AH64/CH47 package will insert ANA troops in to the mountains. Meanwhile your fixed-wing package will provide CAS.
